BMW V12 LM98 Presentation Part 7/7
Everybody say "LMP" 📸!
Reuniting every iteration and livery of a car in one place is usually quite challenging. A single chassis recive multiple livery and often undergoes multiple transformations during its lifetime, sometimes even evolving into an entirely different car. However, thanks to 3D, we can bypass these constraints and fully appreciate its complete history in one scene.
While its résumé may not be the most illustrious, it was undeniably significant. It taught BMW important lessons about designing race cars and highlighted the limitations of private testing compared to actual race conditions. The experience in ALMS likely contributed to their Le Mans victory in 1999. Additionally, the car served as a development platform that ultimately inspired the magnificent Dome S101. All in all, its legacy could have been far less impactful.
You can find more about the car's history in my previous post.
